Meditation, Cleanup and Indigo Dyeing Workshop at Maria Hernandez Park

  • Maria Hernandez Park Starr Street Brooklyn, NY, 11237 United States (map)

As we finish the year, be sure to join us for a meditation, cleanup and indigo dyeing event all in one. We're excited to be partnering with plant care experts Plants for the People, wellness group Higher Ground Movement Collectiveand textile designer Laura Kung--who will all be sharing their expertise with us.

We'll be kicking off the event with a meditation led by Jennie Epland at Higher Ground Movement Collective. Afterward, we'll be cleaning up the park and streets, and finishing the event with an indigo dyeing workshop & mini-lecture led by Laura Kung. With a big thanks to Plants for the People, volunteers will also receive a plant to take home in exchange for their support.

All supplies provided for cleanup portion.

Please bring masks if you'd like to participate in the mask dyeing portion. Small pieces of textiles of natural fiber content (cotton, silk, wool, linen, etc) OR synthetically produced cellulose fibers (rayon, tencel, viscose) are also acceptable to bring. Please do not bring any petroleum-based synthetic fabrics like polyester, nylon, acrylic, since the dye will not stick.

We look forward to seeing you Sunday 11/29!
